depends on what you want. Facebook is less customizable and much more mature then Myspace. Facebook also has a smaller crowd because they used to only allow college students in. as a college student i prefer facebook.

I use both to keep in touch with friends and family. I prefer facebook because it's a lot more private than myspace ...and less bugs. There's no worries about lag time, or unexpected blaring music. ...less spam as well. I go on facebook on the daily basis, my space.. maybe once or twice a week.
Facebook, hands down! If you want to get bombarded by junk advertisements, fake users, or users trying to click on links to dating and porn websites, then MySpace is your place. If you want a mature environment where you can meet new people, and find advertisements that are not over-bearing and are for actual high valued products that you will want to buy, then Facebook is for you.
Facebook originally started as a social network for college students, but has since opened its doors to the general public, and to corporations! (My company has a page in Facebook) Plus, the user base for Facebook is growing each and every week, so you will find tons of people using it in your area.
